NAPKIN RINGS IN WEDDINGS
Unique Napkin Rings Set a Platinum Mood for Vivid Wedding Receptions.
Brides are using napkin rings to embellish table settings and to set a festive mood for their weddings. Like other decorating accessories, napkin rings can spark a simple set table, layering color color, texture, sheen and surprising shapes. They are now a hot fashion accessory for weddings.
Now napkins never looked so stylish, dressed up with rings that state myriad tastes. On the Neiman Marcus Web site alone there are 19 different ring styles. Many other retailers from Crate and Barrel and Pier 1 are stocking these baubles of metal, crystal, beaded glass, horn feathers, velvet and even rattan.
Napkin rings speak so much to the fusion between fashion and home accessories. In fact handbag diva Kate Spade has added sleek napkin rings to her tabletop attire. Bridal designer Vera Wang has embellished her silver napkin rings with grosgrain ribbon. Now Remarkable Rhinestone is offering a line of unique napkin rings that are based on their styles sold as brooches to fashion designers. A look at their site shows over 20 styles that look almost identical to bracelets and brooches made of the same materials. Mark Sales of Remarkable Rhinestone says that the napkin rings make the reception tables at a wedding look polished and complete. “People love to mix things us but the obvious guideline is if you have simple china you can have an embellished napkin ring or if you have embellished china you may want to keep the napkin ring simple.”
At Vietri, an importer of Italian handcrafted tableware, designers have adapted their colorful glass holiday ornaments to cradle napkins at the table. When you set the Christmas table with ornaments they can be take-away gifts.” Brides are also finding that their guests can remember their wedding every time they use the napkin rings that were take-home gifts at their wedding.
Napkin rings certainly help make an event memorable. They may be icebreakers or conversation starters. The simple task of unfolding the napkin ring before the meal will now be all the more ceremonial. Plus, there’s the bonus of having a pretty, fun, elegant or artsy element on the table for all to enjoy.
